Working with Families in Difficult Moments
Submit Your Proposal by Saturday, June 15

Many Family Life Educators support families as the families navigate difficult moments involving challenges such as discrimination, poverty, mental illness, physical illness, family separation and reunification, difficult conversations, and other challenging circumstances. Family Life Educators themselves also experience difficult moments, such as facilitating groups in which participants have polarizing viewpoints or navigating their own feelings of compassion fatigue.
The purpose of the summer 2024 issue of CFLE Network is to learn from each other’s experiences. One way to do this is by sharing your stories and strategies that you have found helpful as you have moved through difficult moments in your work.

The submission deadline is June 15, 2024. Please review the author guidelines. When you submit your article, please use our new CFLE Network Article Submission Form.

Upcoming Webinar
Helping Professionals Utilize Microskills to Promote Engagement
Monday, April 22 / 11 a.m. Noon CT
Presented by: Rachel Tambling, Ph.D., LMFT; and Carissa D’Aniello-Heyda, Ph.D., LMFT

Microskills refer to specific communication techniques and strategies that are employed to establish rapport and effectively interact with families. These skills are essential in everyday interactions and significantly influence how we communicate, solve problems, work together, and handle tasks when engaging with families. Despite their significance, the development of these skills is often overlooked or undervalued.

Join Rachel Tambling, Ph.D., LMFT, and Carissa D'Aniello-Heyda, Ph.D., LMFT, as they introduce various microskills through demonstrations. Participants will practice microskills during the webinar and be better equipped to develop productive helping relationships with families and achieve positive outcomes in their support efforts.
