NCFR WebinarGuidance for Practitioners on Supporting Parent-Child Communication about Sexual Health Tuesday, June 11 / 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CT Presented by: Deborah M. Roffman, CFLE, CSE
A discussion with a young child about their sexual health needs to be clear, age-specific, and include current research surrounding sexuality. These conversations can be particularly intimidating for guardians, especially for adults who have received little to no education on sexuality themselves. It is important for
Family Life Educators (e.g., parent educators) and other practitioners to know how to best equip guardians to hold these difficult conversations themselves, or advocate for changes in the school system.
In this webinar, Deborah M. Roffman, CFLE, CSE, will summarize common questions asked by young children and provide guidance on how practitioners can guide guardians to respond to these questions, and teach attendees how to assist guardians.

Call for AuthorsCFLE Network: Working with Families in Difficult Moments Submission Deadline June 15
Many Family Life Educators support families as the families navigate difficult moments involving challenges such as discrimination, poverty, mental illness, physical illness, family separation and reunification, difficult conversations, and other challenging circumstances. Family Life Educators themselves also experience difficult moments, such as facilitating groups in which participants have polarizing viewpoints or navigating their own feelings of compassion fatigue.
The purpose of the summer 2024 issue of CFLE Network is to learn from each other’s experiences. One way to do this is by sharing your stories and strategies that you have found helpful as you have moved through difficult moments in your work.
The submission deadline is June 15. Please review the author guidelines.

In recent decades, many countries have witnessed rising rates of single individuals and solo living. Despite the increasing number
of single adults, less is known theoretically and empirically about singlehood compared to rich knowledge on coupled adults. This special issue invites submissions that provide insights into the diverse and complex lives of single adults.
