NCFR Strategic Planning
What Good Should NCFR Create in the World? Members & CFLEs: Give Feedback on NCFR's "Ends" Through Oct. 14
What specific good should NCFR and its members create in the world?
A few weeks ago, NCFR Members and Certified Family Life Educators (CFLEs) weighed in on a potential vision statement for NCFR: Every Family Thriving. The NCFR Board of Directors received well over 100 replies, which provided the confidence to take the next step in NCFR's strategic planning process: to learn what you think should be the actual outcomes toward which NCFR should strive, also known as NCFR's "Ends."
Now through Oct. 14, you're invited to react to the board's ideas, exchange comments with your colleagues, and post your own ideas.

Call for Submissions | Family Focus The Psychological Impact of Privilege Proposal Deadline Nov. 20
Family life provides early learning experiences to create and maintain healthy relationships with other people, an important component of health and well-being. Yet family life experiences are influenced by one’s social address, which includes characteristics of one’s identity (e.g., race, religion, sexuality, class). Social address is associated with social advantages, or privileges, that influence family life experiences.
For this issue of Family Focus, the editor invites you to consider the psychological impact of social advantages that promote exclusion, injustice, and isolation. Specifically, in which ways does privilege disrupt the ability of individuals, families, and society to create and maintain healthy relationships?
Prospective authors should submit their proposals by Nov. 20 using the online submission form. All authors will be notified by Dec. 2, and articles are due Jan. 10, 2025. Contact the Family Focus editor, Joyce Serido, Ph.D., with questions.
