Dear ,
I hope this message finds you well, all things considered. I'm reaching out with a heartfelt request that has the power to change the trajectory of many students' futures in Family Science.
Over the past five years, 284 students have received the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Student Access Grant, opening doors to career-changing opportunities at NCFR and beyond. This year, as diversity initiatives face increasing challenges, ensuring that Students of Color have access to critical professional development spaces is more important than ever.
The goal: Raise $30,000 in April 2025 to support 100 Students of Color in accessing professional development and advancement in Family Science.
To kick-start this campaign, I'm pleased to share that 100% of the NCFR Board of Directors has committed to this initiative, demonstrating their full support and commitment to ensuring that inclusion, diversity, justice, equity, and international perspectives are present in Family Science.
With your help:
-
20 students will receive full access to the 2025 NCFR conference, a $500 travel stipend, and a one-year NCFR membership.
-
80 students will receive Bridge access to 2025 NCFR conference sessions, connecting them to impactful Family Science knowledge and professional development opportunities.
For the 20 grant recipients, NCFR membership and conference participation provide critical opportunities for academic and professional advancement, including:
✔ Exposure to the varied pedagogy of Family Science, expanding understanding of teaching and practice.
✔ Enhanced learning through plenaries, workshops, posters, and special sessions, offering cutting-edge knowledge.
✔ Access to emerging research via NCFR’s journals, publications, and webinars.
✔ Valuable networking and mentorship opportunities with students, faculty, researchers, and practitioners.
✔ Connections to member group meetings and online discussions, fostering ongoing collaboration and career growth.
These students represent the future of Family Science. They are future researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates who will shape the discipline—and the lives of families—for years to come. Your gift will nurture emerging talent and ensure that Family Science reflects the diverse families and communities it serves.
Please consider making a donation today. Every contribution, big or small, helps us create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Together, we can empower the next generation of Family Scientists. |
If you are not able to donate at this time, you can still make a meaningful impact. Joining or renewing your NCFR membership directly supports the student resources and professional development opportunities NCFR provides. Every member strengthens our ability to foster the next generation of Family Science professionals.
Thank you for being a champion of diversity and inclusion in Family Science. Your support makes all the difference.
With gratitude,
Bethany L. Letiecq, Ph.D. (pronouns: she, her, hers)
