The 2025 National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Annual Conference is right around the corner — Nov. 19-22 in Baltimore, Maryland. NCFR is a multidisciplinary association focused solely on understanding and strengthening families. The 2025 Annual Conference is the premier venue for family research, theory, and practice. We hope you will join us!

You, your students, and your faculty are invited to engage deeply in NCFR's academic sessions, affinity groups based on your interest areas, workshops for resource sharing, and social events for network and connection. The 2025 NCFR Annual Conference is the perfect place for meaningful exchange, bridging what students are learning in the classroom to research and practice thereby developing and nurturing skills, interact with other Family Science students and professionals, and more!

Exclusive for Students:

  • Apply to be a student aide and support staff while onsite
    • Student aides receive a $60 rebate on their registration post-conference

  • Students of Color can apply to NCFR's Student Access Grant, which covers registration fees, provides a $500 travel stipend as well as a one-year NCFR membership for student never-members

  • Share a room with up to three other registered student attendees. Shared rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Precariousness of Temporary Immigration Statuses and Scholarship in Action

Dr. Menjívar will discuss Temporary Protected Status for immigrants in the United States – its origins, relationship to asylum, how it became a formal status, and how it profoundly shapes the lives of immigrants and their families, including U.S.-born children.

The Baltimore Marriott Waterfront is the headquarters for the 2025 NCFR Annual Conference. All presentations, meetings, poster sessions, exhibits, and events will be held at this location.

You will need to register to attend the conference first before booking your hotel room.

Continuing Education
Continuing Education (CE) Hours for the 2025 NCFR Annual Conference

  • In-person attendees can earn up to 19.25 CE hours during the conference. Those who missed overlapping livestreamed sessions may watch them afterward to earn up to 5 additional CE hours, for a total of 24.25 CE hours.
  • NCFR Bridge attendees (livestream sessions only) can earn up to 14 CE hours.
