JFTR Seeks Papers for Special Issue: "Theorizing Families & the State"
By Jan. 15: Submit Your Manuscript
Manuscripts are due by Jan. 15 for a special issue of NCFR's Journal of Family Theory & Review (JFTR) themed "Theorizing Families and the State." Special issue editors are Bethany Letiecq, Ph.D., Deadric Williams, Ph.D., and Caroline Sanner, Ph.D.
Building on the existing work of critical family scholars, the special issue editors seek manuscripts that further delineate the ways in which family privilege and oppression are socially structured and reproduced by the state via laws, policies, rules, and regulations in the modern era and how marriage fundamentalism, in particular, operates alongside structural racism, nationalism, sexism, and heterosexism as an axis of power and control.
More details are available in the full call for papers.

Research and Policy Briefs Promoting Positive Coparenting: Toward Comprehensive and Inclusive Family Policies
This NCFR policy brief takes an international perspective in offering recommendations to support and acknowledge the coparenting relationship through social, economic, and family policies.
The brief makes several policy recommendations based on results from contemporary studies, framing recommendations broadly enough to be applicable in the political, social, and legal systems of diverse countries yet specifically enough to provide guidance for researchers and policymakers in making progress in this area.
